When co-founder Julie Anne Kelly was training to compete in the New York City Golden Gloves in 2009, the journey went beyond workouts and sparring. What started as a personal challenge quickly became something bigger—an opportunity to channel the physical, mental, and emotional demands of training into raising money for cancer research.
That idea sparked the creation of Haymakers for Hope, which became an official 501(c)(3) charity in 2011.
Since then, Haymakers for Hope has brought its signature boxing events to cities across the country, raising millions for cancer research, care, awareness, and survivorship. Today, participants can box, run, golf, or even take the plunge—joining a growing community of competitors who are fighting back against cancer in the only way they know how.
I believe now more than ever in Haymakers and its potential to raise millions and catalyze change by challenging and pushing everyday men and women to their limits.”
