An excerpt from my Dad's social media post on 1/16/2020, 18 days later we said goodbye, he was at home, with the Eagles Superbowl win playing on a constant loop for two days.

"...Two nights ago the team (Oncologist, Colon Surgeon, and Urologist)came in to talk to me.... I knew that wasn’t a good sign. I was correct. Long story short, despite great care, I am out of options. They gave me anywhere from a few weeks to maybe six months.  I don’t physically feel bad now. Will probably be going home tomorrow . Hospice to follow at some point. I just want to be kept comfortable with a reasonable quality of life for what ever time I have left.

I had a great life..... No regrets. Pretty much got to do everything I wanted. Retired at 50 and used that time to dive my ass off. Loved every minute of it. 71 wonderful years.... Blessed with phenomenal kids and grandkids, as well as making great friends along the way..... Two amazing wives too. Not at the same time....

I have had the honor to be part of Shane's Future Days for years, my Dad was proud I was part of this amazing charity, started by my friends Paul and Michelle Metzgar in honor of their amazing son Shane, spreading Shane's strength, and memory to help so many others, children with cancer, families going through their child's battle with cancer. I am raising funds for Haymakers for Hope through my participation in the Liberty Bell Brawl, and I have chosen Shane's Future Days as the beneficiary of the donations I raise. I will pull on Shane's strength and determination, and I will hear my Dad in my head. 

I fight for my Dad, I fight for Shane, I fight for my friends who have defeated cancer, I fight for my friends and family who have lost a loved one to cancer (I started naming them, but sadly it is a list too long). I fight to do my small little part in battling this beast.
