"The more difficult the victory, the greater the happiness in winning." - Pele
I fight because like so many families out there, my family has had to deal with the terrible effects of cancer. With incredible personal strength and the help of cutting edge treatments, we are so fortunate to have my aunts Dee Dee and Julie with us in remission and great health today. We continue to remember my uncle Jim not in sickness, but in the laughs we shared and the courage he showed in his battle up until the very end. I fight to lift up my cousin Kaylin (though she doesn't really need us) in her amazing grit and determination, crushing it in the gym while going through chemo knowing it will reduce her chances of recurrence.
When I first heard about Haymakers For Hope from my wife Jackie, getting in the ring didn't seem like something I would ever do. But in the face of how cancer has devastated so many people I love and countless more families out there, it's clear this is something I had to do.
It will be lots of blood, sweat, and bruises training hard over the next months and I hope you'll support me on the journey as we raise money for critical cancer research and survivorship programs. On Nov. 2 I will leave it all in the ring... Let's #KOCancer !

Haymakers for Hope’s mission is to knockout cancer the only way we know how, by literally fighting for a cure. We give everyday men and women the opportunity to fight back against this terrible disease by training for, and competing in charity boxing events to raise money and awareness. To prepare for each event, we combine the efforts of the first time amateur boxing participants, local boxing gyms and volunteers. We hope to help give life saving researchers the resources needed to fully focus their efforts on finding a cure.
