I started boxing in 2020 to help me recover both physically and mentally from number of personal issues that I have encountered. When I learned about Haymakers for Hope and the possibility that I could use my personal journey to help other, I knew I had to jump at the chance to participate. My mind thought of my mother-in-law Lisa Slater who is 10 years into her battle with Stage 4 bone, liver and breast cancer. I also thought of my boss Kristine Pettoni that lost her battle with breast cancer in 2019, my teammate Hayden Winston James that recently lost his battle this past December, my close family friend Marc Mruz that fought the good fight but left us this past May, and numerous other family friends that have battled this terrible disease. Please help me smash my personal goal of $10,000 and raise some money to help all of those who fight.
