I’m so excited to continue my World Marathon Majors journey by running the 2026 London Marathon this coming April as part of the Haymakers for Hope team. This will be my fifth major marathon and my third time running with Haymakers. They are an incredible non-profit organization that raises funds to improve cancer care, fuel groundbreaking research, and support cancer awareness and survivorship. I’m truly grateful to be part of such an inspiring team and mission.
After more than a decade working as an oncology nurse, I’ve seen firsthand how far we’ve come in the fight against cancer, but also how much further we still have to go. In April 2025, my dad was diagnosed with Stage IV metastatic salivary ductal carcinoma, a rare form of cancer that affects only about 1 in 100,000 people. It’s been a rollercoaster of a journey, but he has faced every obstacle with incredible grace, positivity and courage. He’s already completed eight cycles of chemotherapy and will begin radiation later this year.
Experiencing cancer not just as a nurse, but as a daughter, has deepened my understanding of how crucial research funding truly is. My dad’s treatment options exist because of research, research made possible by organizations like Haymakers for Hope. Their work gives patients and families more time, more hope, and more reasons to keep fighting.
They say third time’s the charm, and I’m hoping to make this my biggest fundraising year yet. Your donation — big or small — will make a lasting impact on patients, families, and the future of cancer care. Thank you so much for your support and for being part of this journey with me.
