I started running over 20 years ago. I was in high school and not particularly athletic, but I needed an extracurricular activity—and this one didn’t require hand-eye coordination.
My relationship with running has evolved significantly since then. Running has become such an important part of my life. It’s given me lifelong friends, a sense of community, and has had an extraordinary impact on my physical and mental health. Most importantly, it’s been a profound source of joy.
This is my first race running for anyone other than myself. Most of you know that I’m a nurse, and I care for patients with cancer every shift. Running the Berlin Marathon is an opportunity for me to give back in a different way. Thank you for supporting me and them !
