Goal
If you're not in the fight mentally, you can't be in the fight physically.
Be water, my friend.
Hi I'm Kellie. I'm from Wilkes-Barre, PA but have been living in Washington D.C. for the last eight years.
I am training at Urban Boxing Foggy Bottom and have never done anything like this before.
My training journey has been incredible so far, but the main reason I am here is to support those impacted by this terrible disease, including members of my family, my stepdad, Dad, stepmom, uncle, and more.
My inspiration for this fight is my stepdad, Tom. He's been fighting cancer for 10 years this fall. He was diagnosed with multiple myeloma an uncommon blood cancer that affects the bone marrow.
The proceeds from this fight go directly to John Hopkins Kimmel Cancer Center at Sibley Memorial Hospital, the very hospital that saved his life.
Right now, there is no known cause for multiple myeloma and currently no know ways to prevent it.
My hope is with the money raised we can find a way to prevent it and knock out this terrible disease for good.
My stepdad keeps fighting every day, without complaining. The least I can do is give it my all for one night, in hopes we can end this.
Because not every fight ends at the bell.
