About a year before I was born, my grandmother, Erika Fellinger, lost her battle with cancer. Because of this disease, I never had the chance to meet the woman my middle name honors—but her legacy has shaped my life in a powerful way.
When I arrived at college in Miami, I made a promise to myself: I would turn that loss into action. Each year, I participated in Dolphins Challenge Cancer—running a 5K and participating in the campus stationary bike ride—to support cancer research. Through those efforts, I raised nearly $2,000 to help fight this disease.
After graduating, I knew I wasn’t done.
When I learned about Haymakers for Hope, the mission immediately resonated with me. This isn’t just about stepping into a boxing ring—it’s about fighting back against a disease that has taken far too much from too many people. Over the next four months, I’ll be training for a charity boxing match with one goal in mind: raising as much money as possible to support cancer research and move us closer to a cure.
If cancer has affected you or someone you love, I hope you’ll consider donating. Every contribution—big or small—brings us one step closer to finding a cure. If you’re not able to give, sharing this page within your network means more than you know.
Together, let’s honor those we’ve lost, support those still fighting, and #KOCancer once and for all.
