I’m fighting in memory of my best friend’s father, who bravely battled renal (kidney) cancer, which later spread to his spine. Watching someone you love endure that fight changes you. It puts everything into perspective.

I’m also fighting in memory of my best friend Justin’s mother, Amy, who battled ovarian cancer. I will be carrying on her battle throughout these next few months.

By taking part in Haymakers, I hope to hear from others close to me who have been affected by cancer, so I can carry their fights with me into the ring.

This fight isn’t about me. It’s about honoring their strength, supporting families facing the same battle, and helping fund research and care so fewer people have to endure this pain.
