Luca Boland is from Tolland, Connecticut. He attended East Catholic High School before continuing his education at Norwich University, where he studied Cyber Security, played collegiate lacrosse and was a member of the Corps of Cadets.

Cancer is a cause that is deeply personal to Luca. He lost his Nana, Rachel Ann Veleas, to breast cancer, an experience that left a lasting impact on him and his family. Fighting in Haymakers for Hope is his way of honoring her memory while helping raise funds to support cancer research, care, and survivorship programs.

After graduating from Norwich, Luca moved to Boston for work and quickly became involved in the local athletic community. In addition to training for the fight, he plays rugby for the Boston Irish Wolfhounds.

Luca will step into the ring at MGM Music Hall at Fenway for Haymakers for Hope’s Rock ’N Rumble with the goal of raising $10,000 to help fight cancer. He is proud to fight in memory of his Nana and in support of everyone who has faced this disease.
