I'm stepping in the ring on May 8th for the James P. Stowe Foundation, which raises money for testicular cancer research at Mass General Hospital in honor of James Stowe.
I met James briefly after transferring to Roger Williams University prior to the cancer returning. James was a member of the RWU hockey team as well, and I heard plenty of stories from the older guys about how great a teammate and friend he was to everyone.
Each year since he passed away in 2017, the Foundation has put on a charity golf tournament in Connecticut which is one of the best days of the year for all who participate. The waitlist to play in the tournament keeps growing each year; another clear example of how much this person meant to everyone involved. Hundreds of people show up each year in his memory to raise funds and enjoy a fun day on the course, just like Stowe would've wanted.
From getting a chance to meet him in the Fall of 2016 to this tournament, I knew that this would be the charity for me to support.
