Goal
Haymakers for Hope’s mission is to knockout cancer the only way we know how, by literally fighting for a cure.
My name is Corey and I will be competing in a boxing match with Haymakers for Hope on May 11th, 2023 at the Fenway MGM Music Hall to raise funds to support the Ovarian Cancer Research Alliance.
If you know me even a little bit, you're probably thinking "wtf??". I've never done any boxing training before. I've never won a fist fight. I wrestled in high school but lost every single one of my matches. If I find bugs in my house I carefully take them outside.
When I applied to do this, my father had been recently diagnosed with prostate cancer, and my wife, is a two-time childhood survivor of an optic nerve glioma, so the cause already felt close to home. Then a few weeks later, my mom was diagnosed with ovarian cancer.
Not many things can exact such a physical, emotional, and spiritual toll on our world as cancer does, so I'll be spending the next four months busting my ass in the boxing gym, running in the snow, punching hay bales, and doing whatever it takes to raise money and awareness to help find a cure. Training might be the hardest thing I've ever done, but it's nothing compared to what those fighting this disease go through, so if they can manage to push forward then I can get punched in the face for them.
If your life has been touched by cancer or you want to help an amazing cause, please consider donating below. 100% of your contribution will go toward supporting research that can help people live longer, happier lives, and prevent families from losing loved ones too soon. Win or lose, I promise to pour my heart into this journey, and with your help we can make a difference for those suffering from this terrible illness.

About Haymakers for Hope:
"We give everyday men and women the opportunity to fight back against this terrible disease by training for, and competing in charity boxing events to raise money and awareness. To prepare for each event, we combine the efforts of the first time amateur boxing participants, local boxing gyms and volunteers. We hope to help give life saving researchers the resources needed to fully focus their efforts on finding a cure."
