Goal
It does not matter how slowly you go so long as you do not stop.
I fight for those who should never fight alone.
You never imagine it will affect you until the day that it does. In the first month after our daughter was born, my wife was diagnosed with triple-negative breast cancer. What had at that point been a generally distant disease all of a sudden was closer than I had ever imagined. Over the course of the next 2 years, I witnessed the fight first hand through rounds of chemotherapy and radiation, numerous surgeries, and the continued mental and physical battles.
Now seven years since her diagnosis and with a clean bill of health, while looking back at the experience, the most profound memories are the positive ones: the caring, the generosity, the love and support that surrounded us as others fought with us. Unfortunately for many, the fight can overcome them and they never have a chance to receive the support that is needed to stand up and fight along with others, the same support that we received.
That is why I fight for those who should never fight alone.
