Losing my grandfather to pancreatic cancer was one of the most formidable events in my life. I had watched a man who had once been one of the strongest figures in my life slowly lose himself to a disease that had low/no cure.

The one thing, however, that I will always remember was that throughout his illness he always maintained his fire and spirit. Each day, I spent with him he would not so gently remind me that, "Cramers are fighters and whatever comes your way, Gabrielle, you use your determination and fortitude, accept the challenge and give it a shot to come back stronger than ever." To this day, I try to live by those words.

Having lost my grandfather to pancreatic cancer and watched both my father and grandmother face and beat melanoma, I decided to take part in Haymakers for them and all those to have the courage to STAND UP AND FIGHT AGAINST CANCER.
