Goal
Both my parents died of cancer over the past few years—my mother from non-small cell lung cancer in 2010 and my father from liver cancer just last year. Very simply put, I fight for them! I fight for others in my family as well, who are dealing with this horrible disease. Cancer has taken so much and continues to affect countless other families. Watching my parents fight their respective diseases has taught me time and time again what courage really looks like. They fought for their lives. Although they didn’t overcome this dreadful disease, they became an inspiration to those around them. I will never forget their struggles. In their struggles, they showed courage, strength, resilience, and determination. They showed grit. Their spirits were never knocked down; they stood tall day in and day out with their fight. I fight for their memories and for those who are currently in their own battles. I fight in memory of Rodolfo and Elieth Ramirez. I fight in the spirit of raising funds for research that aims to eradicate this disease once and for all. A small contribution is all I can offer, but with the help of donors like you, we can collectively make a significant change. Please join me on my Haymakers journey to make a small difference in this fight.
For those who know me, there is no love greater than the “sweet science.” Boxing has become a way of life for me; it is the ultimate metaphor for my life. If you get knocked down, just get up, keep going, and fight no matter what. Keep punching hard and keep your hands up. This is my opportunity to unite a great cause like raising funds for cancer research with boxing. Thank you for reading and supporting my journey. Let’s KO Cancer together!
