Goal
Boxing serves as my anchor, providing me with focus and discipline in a world that often feels chaotic. The sport has become a vital part of my life, allowing me to channel my emotions and energy into something constructive. Through boxing, I have learned resilience, which is essential not just in the ring but also in facing life's challenges head-on.
I am participating in Haymakers for Hope because cancer is a relentless adversary that has touched my family deeply. Growing up, I witnessed my mother battle this terrible disease. Her courage and determination inspired me, especially as she emerged victorious against her diagnosis. Unfortunately, cancer has continued to affect the lives of other loved ones, including my grandfather and several aunts and uncles. Their struggles remind me of the importance of fighting back, not just for myself but for all those affected by this illness.
The American Cancer Society played a crucial role in my mother's journey, providing support through their Hope House, which offered her a place to stay during treatment. This organization is a beacon of hope for many families, including mine, and I believe in giving back to those who help others in need. By boxing for Haymakers for Hope, I aim to raise awareness and funds for a cause that has profoundly impacted my life and the lives of countless others. Together, we can make a difference in the fight against cancer.
