Goal
I'm stepping into the ring for Haymakers for Hope to fight in honor of two incredible men who shaped my life—my biological father and stepfather, both of whom I lost to cancer.
At just 16 years old, my stepfather, Mark Krohn, sat me down and told me he had been diagnosed with terminal stage 4 cancer, with less than a year left to live. Mark was a kind soul with an incredible mind and a gentle spirit. His presence is deeply missed and will be cherished forever.
Then, at age 22, I received the devastating news that my father, Barry Nunez, was also diagnosed with cancer. After a relentless battle with an aggressive form of the disease, Barry passed away on October 7, 2022. Barry was full of life and spirit, and he will be missed dearly by his family, friends, and all who knew him.
With each round, punch, and drop of sweat, I’m not just fighting to honor their legacy; I'm fighting for everyone touched by this disease. This battle is personal, and with your support, we can knock out cancer together. Join me as I fight for hope, healing, and a future where families don’t have to experience the losses mine has.

I'm so happy to hear you are doing this, Austin! Your Dad was there to support me when I had surgery to remove most of the cancer from my body, and I will never forget that. I love and miss my Parrain so much! Thank you for doing this! -Michelle
