For the past few years, I've been inspired by the incredible feats of my loved ones. Two years ago, my sister swam from England to France, raising funds for the children's hospital where she works. Earlier this year, a dear friend skated from Scotland to London to support disadvantaged youth in the UK. Their dedication showed me the power of personal challenge for a greater cause.

The idea of getting in a ring and fighting someone has always scared me. Confronting this head-on while raising money for a crucial cause feels like the perfect challenge for me.

Why cancer research? Over these same years, two family members faced different forms of cancer. Thanks to events like these and the support for cancer research, which continues to make significant strides, both are now cancer-free. My family has been fortunate, but many others are not. If I can contribute to supporting others through this event, it's the least I can do.
