I'm fighting to help fund research that helps eliminate racial disparities in cancer treatment and outcomes. Specifically, the funds I raise through Haymakers for Hope will go to the New York Genome Center's Polyethnic-1000 project [0], which focuses its research on underserved populations. When I first signed up for Haymakers for Hope, I knew I wanted to fight for survivors. As I learn more about cancer and read stories from survivors, I want to highlight the racial and socioeconomic disparities that exist in cancer research, treatment and outcomes.
