Not all fights end at the bell.
Ten years ago my mother was diagnosed with breast cancer. After a year of punishing chemotherapy and a cocktail of painful drugs she was deemed cancer free, and was able to rebuild. Earlier this year the cancer returned in a different form, in a different place. With its reappearance comes the same uncertainty and fear, the same panoply of treatments and side effects.
Unfortunately, this story is not unique. Every family has been touched by cancer and each of us wishes we could do more to help end it. Now that cancer has befallen my family again, it's time I ante up and pitch in. I'll be fighting for my mom. Give in someone's memory, give for someone's struggle, or give so we might see a future that's cancer free for all our families. No one fights alone. I hope to see you in my corner.
