Goal
Haymakers for Hope’s mission is to knockout cancer the only way we know how, by literally fighting for a cure.
I fight for my family members that have successfully battled bladder and prostate cancers. I also fight on behalf of every person who fought, is fighting, or will have to fight cancer until cures are found.
It's daunting to train for a boxing match for the first time. I don’t know if my training is going well or miserably, and I can't help but wonder if I'm going to get beat up in front of 2,000 people. Then I remember there is a much scarier foe than a first-time amateur boxer, and everything is put in context. Each day, people are fighting to survive the mystery, confusion, and physical & mental pain caused by cancer. I aspire to have the smallest amount of their courage.
I’m just one of many who have had cancer hurt their loved ones. It’s a great honor to play a small part in the fight against cancer by raising money and awareness to support the American Cancer Society, Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, and the Haymakers for Hope organization.
