Goal
This year, I’ve been selected to throw punches for a purpose in Haymakers for Hope’s “Beltway Brawl” in DC, raising money for DKMS, a phenomenal nonprofit helping blood cancer patients find life-saving bone marrow donors.
I’ve always been drawn to mental and physical challenges, whether it was collegiate wrestling, a 10-year run in the Marine Corps, or six marathons too many, I’ve always believed that suffering builds character—and also calf definition.
Then in September 2023, I entered a whole new kind of fight when I was diagnosed with Diffuse Large B-Cell Lymphoma, a common but aggressive type of Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. Chemo stunk, and I found myself in a ‘pain cave’ worse than any I’d been through before. But through it all, I made myself a promise: If I made it to remission, I’d find a way to fight back—for others.
So now, I’m raising funds for DKMS, the world’s largest network of bone marrow donor centers. They match donors with patients and make it ridiculously easy to help save lives. (Seriously, it’s like a cheek swab and some paperwork—way easier than boxing.)
I’d love for you to support my campaign—by donating, sharing, or showing up on September 25 at The Anthem in DC to cheer, jeer, or just watch me get punched in the face for a good cause.
Let’s knock out blood cancer together.
