Goal
Why am I fighting? Cancers affected my life since before I was born. My grandfather, Harold Rich, passed away from lung cancer shortly before I was born, and my grandmother and his wife, Cornelia Rich, battled and survived a dual diagnosis of both breast and ovarian cancer during my childhood, all while caring for my brother and me while our parents worked. In the years since, there hasn’t been a time when I didn’t know someone else battling this horrible disease.
I was born and raised in Baltimore, MD, and attended Elon University in North Carolina before returning home to attend law school. I’ve been in Washington, D.C. for close to a decade, and currently serve as General Counsel to a U.S. Senator. Over the years, I’ve participated in a number of fundraisers for cancer research, but we need to knock out cancer, plain and simple, and Haymakers for Hope is one of the best opportunities to do that.
