Goal
Haymakers for Hope’s mission is to knockout cancer the only way we know how, by literally fighting for a cure.
Cancer is an absolutely horrible disease that indiscriminately affects everyone, either directly or indirectly. Having witnessed friends, clients, family members, and loved ones battle the disease, I have always been inspired by the their positive spirit and never-quit mentality throughout their battle.
This inspiration lead me to participating in this year’s Haymakers for Hope "Rumble in the Rockies" on June 11th at the Fillmore Auditorium. I will spend every day of the next 4 months training (shout out to ToS Boxing Gym) and fundraising to reach my goals both in and out of the ring. I know that no matter how hard I get hit, or how hard the training may be, that Cancer will always hit harder.
Through my fundraising and stepping into the ring, I hope that my contribution not only helps further cancer research and awareness, but also inspires others to pick a battle of their own and help move the needle towards finding a cure.
Proceeds from my fundraising will go to supporting the Children's Hospital Colorado Foundation specifically benefiting Experimental Therapeutics. My fundraising will be generously matched by the Alex's Lemonade Stand organization which means your dollars will go 2X as far towards developing game changing therapies for children battling cancer now and in the future.
"When you die, it does not mean that you lose to cancer. You beat cancer by how you live, why you live, and in the manner in which you live." -Stuart Scott
Haymakers for Hope gives everyday men and women the opportunity to fight back against this terrible disease by training for, and competing in charity boxing events to raise money and awareness. To prepare for each event, we combine the efforts of the first time amateur boxing participants, local boxing gyms, and volunteers. We hope to help give life saving researchers the resources needed to fully focus their efforts on finding a cure.
