I sadly lost my dad Jerry last year to lung cancer. To honor and celebrate his life, and also to do something both challenging and a little wacky the month I turn 50, I’m going to participate in the Haymakers for Hope “Rumble in the Rockies III” event at the Fillmore Auditorium on October 27. I’ll be stepping in the ring that night for my first amateur boxing match.



I’ve pledged to raise at least $10,000 before then to help #kocancer and have chosen to donate all the money I raise to the Children's Cancer Fund of New Mexico. My dad was a pediatrician and loved both kids and the last chapters of his life that he spent in New Mexico. I know he would be very excited about the mission of this organization, which is to provide care, support and services for children with this horrible disease.
