I am fighting to honor my mother, Judy Eustice Heald, who overcame COVID-19 only to lose her battle with lung cancer late last year.  My Mom was a fierce woman who fought for what she believed.  She marched in Selma with Martin Luther King, Jr.  She taught science to multitudes of kids who contacted me when she passed and told me in passionate tones how she impacted them in their lives.  But to me, she was the person who put steel in my spine, curiosity in my mind, and love in my heart.
