Over the years I have been asked by friends, colleagues and family countless times to donate to a charity event that is personal to them. And every time I happily oblige. But after a while, I got tired of patting myself on the back for simply writing a check. I wanted to finally be the one to inspire others to give.

As a dad of two young boys, I’ve been looking for opportunities to teach them about kindness, compassion, and making their community stronger. Haymakers for Hope is an incredible way to accomplish all of these things. I cannot think of a better avenue to raise money, build awareness, and teach my boys a life lesson than by taking on this adventure with 30 other men and women also fighting for such a great cause.

While this fight is nothing compared to those facing cancer, I’d like to do my part to show them that they are not alone in the fight, and there is a community that stands behind them.
