Why participate in Haymakers? Well, I suppose that it's to finish what I started.

As you may know, last year I was accepted into H4H, but did not make it to the finish line. A fractured orbital bone from sparring forced me to drop out, which hurt my ego more than my face (although, that hurt too). I was not allowed to box for months, but my desire to step into the ring remained unchanged. I saw all of my fellow Boston 2017 fighters give it their all on fight night, and I knew that this was something that I had to see to the end.

The Haymakers organization is an amazing one. I’m honored that they have allowed me a second chance to raise funding and awareness for cancer. My setback last year was temporary, and I’m grateful to have this opportunity once again. I owe it to those that have lost the battle against cancer, the Haymakers for Hope organization, and myself to see this to the end.

Let’s hope my head movement improves this year!
