A 41yr old mom of two incredible kids Harper (11) and Luca (9) who's mission is to K.O. cancer!
Cancer has affected so many around all of us in one way or another. I fight for the families of loved ones who never got the chance to fight for themselves, and I also fight for those that are currently diagnosed and riddled with a long road ahead, yet showing up everyday fighting.
Having your children grow up in a small close nit town like Abington is everything you could ask for. The schools, the community, the coaches, the friends. You couldn't dream up a better setting. Yet somehow cancer seems to be devastating this community and affecting loved ones left and right. I will be stepping into the ring on October 14th to honor two of the greatest people known throughout Abington. One who sadly we lost to lung cancer in 2025 and one who was recently shell shocked with a stage 3 diagnosis and is fighting for himself and his family every day.
Greg Brodeur was an incredible coach from youth football to baseball to flag football. He was family friend that was taken from not only this community but from his two sons Drew & Aiden as well as his wife Rachel too soon. No family should have to endure that type of loss. Greg diagnosed in 2020 with Lung cancer maintained that positive attitude of "we've got this" had the surgery to remove the cancerous tissue thought things were going in the right direction, until unfortunately him and his family found out it had spread. He then endured several treatments over the years chemotherapy, radiation, brain radiation. He fought the best he could, quietly and bravely, until finding out that his cancer had spread again. This time his body could no longer handle the weight of anymore treatments. Shortly after receiving this news, Greg entered hospice care where he spent his time for just about a week before passing on September 29th 2025.
Another name that will be on my gloves is Jay Brown aka "Brownie". Jay is an incredible coach, family friend, amazing father of 3 kids Finn, Maverick, Grace, and a devoted husband to his wife Erin and an inspiration to all the kids in this town. This family was recently shell shocked to find out that what was thought to be just a lump on his leg was diagnosed as Stage 3 Leiomyosarcoma (a rare and aggressive form of cancer) This is a man that while currently undergoing radiation to prep for an upcoming surgery and long road of recovery, is still showing up to coach little league baseball, basketball, JV Baseball, and the list could go on... I wear his name and fight for him, his children and his wife and pray for road of recovery for them.
As I step into the ring on the night of October 14th with two names on my gloves Brodeur and Brown, know that every punch I throw will be for their families, and every hit I take will be for them.
Please join me and stand in my corner of the ring and donate to help fight to K.O. cancer for those we have lost, for those we know that are still going through it, for those that have survived, and so that our future, and the future for our children can be had with a little more ease and less uncertainty of the fear of hearing that gut wrenching diagnosis.
