This October, I’ll be stepping into the ring for the very first time not just to fight, but to fight for something bigger than myself. I’m honored to be part of Haymakers for Hope, raising funds and awareness to Knock Out Cancer.

I dedicate my fight to Devin Suau, a funny, brave boy who touched so many lives, including mine.

Devin wasn’t just a symbol of strength, he was our friend. I had the privilege of knowing the incredible joy, humor, and energy he brought to every room. Even when faced with DIPG at just 6 years old, Devin fought with heart, with laughter, and with a spirit far bigger than his years.

He passed away just 7 days before his 7th birthday, but his legacy lives on through the WhyNotDevin Foundation to End DIPG and through every one of us who continues to carry his light forward.

Now, I’m stepping into the ring in his memory, and for every child and family who has had to face the unimaginable. Every punch I throw, every drop of sweat, and every dollar raised will support the WhyNotDevin Foundation, which helps DIPG families and fuels critical research in hopes of one day finding a cure.

This journey is deeply personal. I’ll be stepping far outside of my comfort zone, mentally and physically challenging myself every single day not just to grow stronger, but to honor Devin who never stopped fighting.

As a single mom of three boys, I know what it means to struggle, to show up when it’s hard, and to keep going when quitting feels easier. But this time, I’m doing it with gloves on fueled by love, purpose, and the belief that my boys will see this and know
that no matter how tough something may seem, it’s pushing through the fear, the doubt, and the discomfort that makes us stronger. That true strength is built in the moments where you feel like giving up but don’t.
