I am honored to have been chosen to participate in such a remarkable event to help raise money for cancer research. Finding a cure for cancer is the ultimate goal; raising money to help contribute to the research necessary to do so is a privilege. I will do my very best with this opportunity to make an impact.

When submitting my fighter application for Haymakers for Hope, I immediately thought about all of our pediatric patients: past, present and future who have been affected themselves or have had someone in their family affected by cancer. I am fighting in support of those kids and their families who always show the most incredible amount of strength when its needed the most.

I’m fighting for those who are still fighting their fight against cancer today, for those whom we’ve lost to this disease, and for families who are supporting their loved ones in their fight against cancer.

I have chosen Alex's Lemonade Stand as the beneficiary of the straight donations that I raise for Haymakers for Hope from the support of my friends and family for my participation in Belles of the Brawl IX. Alexandra "Alex" Scott was diagnosed with neuroblastoma (a childhood cancer) before she turned one. When she was four years old, she hosted her first lemonade stand fundraiser for cancer research. She raised over $2,000 that day! Alex passed away after her hard fought battle with pediatric cancer in 2004; by that time she had raised over $1 million for cancer research. Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation continues to raise money for research for a cure for pediatric cancer while also increasing awareness and supporting families who continue to fight pediatric cancer. I hope to make the foundation proud and I am fighting in honor of Alex and how courageously she fought against pediatric cancer.
