Hey! My name is Leah Lally and I am from Quincy, Massachusetts. I first heard about Haymakers For Hope when my friend was a fighter in Belles of The Brawl 2018. I remember watching her fight, screaming my head off for her and thinking, I need to do this! Since then I have kept up with Haymakers, applied a few times, stayed consistent with training, and now here I am!

I've had a few people in my life that have been affected by cancer one way or the other. The biggest influence came from Sheila Garvan, my best friends mom. Sheila was one of the strongest and most inspiring people I have met, and truly a saint for dealing with all our shenanigans. She was a nurse and a true fighter who always stressed the importance of "Mind Over Matter". In January 2020, Sheila lost her battle with Glioblastoma. Since then I have been able to use my graphic design background and help turn Sheila's words into the amazing non-profit organization "Mind Over Matter M.O.M". In the past year and a half we have designed t-shirts and raised thousands for Dana Farber in Sheila's memory.

I am doing this fight to push myself to the limit and prove the words, that it is Mind Over Matter. This is for Sheila and everyone else who needs someone to take a few hits for them. #SheilaStrong
