Each year cancer is among the leading causes of death worldwide. Nearly everyone I know has been affected by cancer in some way, shape, or form. I've witnessed family members fight it, friends die from it, and countless others struggle with the harsh realities that come with fighting this deadly disease. 

That's why I jumped at the opportunity to team up with Haymaker's for Hope in the fight against cancer. Haymakers for Hope’s mission is to knock out cancer the only way we know how, by literally fighting for a cure. We hope to help give life-saving researchers the resources needed to fully focus their efforts on finding a cure.

Although I won't be stepping in the ring, I am accepting a different type of challenge and running my first ever marathon in this year's New York City Marathon. 

As I train and prepare, I will be thinking of my late friend Nick Tierney (Gastric Cancer), my Aunt Mary Delaney (Breast Cancer), my former teammate, and friend DeAngelo Tyson, who was recently diagnosed with Colon Cancer, and so many others who continue their fight against Cancer.
