"Anyone can run a marathon...how many people can go toe to toe in the ring?"
I was first introduced to Haymakers for Hope back in 2014 when I saw a dear friend get punched in the face in front of a sold out crowd at House of Blues in Boston. I was intrigued. When I found out that all fundraising efforts went directly to cancer research, I was hooked. I signed up for the event shortly thereafter and was fortunate enough to get the nod to be a part of the H4H class of 2015. I tout the experience as once in a lifetime to anyone who will listen and have only come to develop a stronger appreciation and respect for the Haymakers organization with each year that goes by. Haymakers has raised over $11.5M in 9 years and continues to find new ways to inspire participants ("hey wanna get in sick shape and get punched in front of your closest family and friends for charity?") and accelerate cancer research efforts.
When signing up for H4H back in 2015, I told myself "anyone can run a marathon but how many people can say they went toe to toe in the ring for charity?" Well, I've gone toe to toe...now it's time to put my money where my mouth is and run a marathon. I'm honored to be one of five inaugural H4H runners in the 2020 Boston Marathon and beyond blessed to have another opportunity to raise money for cancer research through this great charity.
Haymakers for Hope’s mission is to knockout cancer the only way we know how, by literally fighting for a cure.
