Why I box

Strike first, strike hard, no mercy! Okay maybe some mercy this is a charity event not the All Valley championship.

I'm extremely grateful that my immediate family and closest friends have not been diagnosed with cancer, but I can't say that their immediate family and closest friends have not been. I see it constantly affect those around me, and I'm finally in a position in my life where I can do something about it and give back by fighting for those that are affected.

Reading everyone else's stories here that are involved with this organization is also very inspiring and humbling. I know I would be devastated and unable to function if I heard either my parents, siblings, or nephews were diagnosed. So I'm also here to fight against future diagnoses, and everyone else's stories that I haven't heard yet.

While I've always been curious about trying boxing because of how difficult it is, stepping into the ring for 6 min is easy compared to those fighting against cancer. If the money we raise gives any kind of edge or help to those in the real fight, it's definitely worth it.
