Over the last 6 years, Haymakers For Hope has afforded dozens of fighters the opportunity to have a meaningful impact in the field of cancer research while simultaneously enjoying immense personal change, both mentally and physically. I am incredibly fortunate to be fighting for a cure to a vicious disease that has almost certainly affected all of our lives in one way or another. In particular, I fight for my maternal grandfather who was taken by pancreatic cancer, my paternal grandmother who I never met on account of lung cancer and for my maternal grandmother who courageously knocked out breast cancer. Knowing my grandmother, I would have told cancer to never get in the ring - it is her tremendous spirit and resolve that gives me the strength to put every ounce of effort I have into training for this occasion.
