Did you know, Skin cancer is the most common cancer in the United States and worldwide?

• 1 in 5 Americans will develop skin cancer by the age of 70.
• More than 2 people die of skin cancer in the U.S. every hour.
• When detected early, the 5-year survival rate for melanoma is 99 percent.

While certainly not the most worrisome of cancers due to the high survival rate, i want to contribute towards its eradication as a lethal disease. Having dealt with skin cancer and pre-cancers for the last 25 years, along with watching the same for my father, brother and other family members deal with the same, fighting for Haymakers is an opportunity to help that mission.

Rich is cofounder of NYC based Odyssey Retail, a real estate advisory firm that works with premier retail brands and properties across the Americas. A lifelong New Yorker, Rich lives on Long Island with his awe-inspiring wife Vicki, their 3 kids (Mia, Juliet & Reed) and their handicapped but lovable most of the time dog, Lincoln. Every couple of years Rich seems to sign up for something that makes his wife, mother and mother-in-law concerned for his well-being and questioning his sanity, but at least this time he is doing it for charity, not just a good story.
