I fight because 20 years ago I wrote in my elementary school yearbook that my goal was to find a cure for cancer. Although I then watched my grandmother fight bravely and ultimately succumb to this awful disease, my career goals had changed, and I enlisted and served five years in the United States Marine Corps.

After transitioning out of the Marine Corps, I learned of a new war - the battle against toxic exposures resulting from military service. These exposures often cause a variety of cancer in our post-9/11 veterans. Consequently, I will be fighting on behalf of HunterSeven, a foundation that conducts groundbreaking medical research that is used to educate our veteran population about toxic exposures, risk factors, and most importantly tools to assist with screening assessments, early identification, and prevention-based medicine.  4.2 million of our veterans served in post-9/11 combat operations. Of those 4.2 million veterans, over 100 thousand have died of unknown causes, and over 92.6% of veterans have reported exposure to toxins while deployed.

HunterSeven has budgeted $50,000 for its immediate needs in 2022 to assist post-9/11 service members dealing with medical illness and cancers. With your help, we can add to that figure and ensure this program grows and deliver maximum results for our veterans.
