Goal
Haymakers for Hope’s mission is to knockout cancer the only way we know how, by literally fighting for a cure.
To those before us…
To those amongst us…
To those we will see on the other side.
“Lord let me not prove unworthy of my Brothers.” or sisters!!

We give everyday men and women the opportunity to fight back against this terrible disease by training for, and competing in charity boxing events to raise money and awareness. To prepare for each event, we combine the efforts of the first time amateur boxing participants, local boxing gyms and volunteers. We hope to help give life saving researchers the resources needed to fully focus their efforts on finding a cure.
I have been chosen to step in the ring this year by Haymakers. I chose to step into program in honor of my father who die cancer when I was 10 years old. It’s been a long hard road for me it has it’s ups and downs. One thing I can remember is that he always told me to keep going and work harder than the one next to you. At this point all I want to do is make him and many others proud to never give up because there is someone looking down or at you, hoping you can stay strong too.
I would also like to recognize that I lost two other influential people to cancer at a young age too. I would also like to recognize Ali Pierce who passed at 14 years of age with liver Cancer, Nov 3, 1996. Ali grew up with me and played hockey. We had great memories playing hockey and always joking around. She was and will always be a great friend!! Another figure in my life that also helped me stay strong after my father passed. Jack Jerszyk Jack helped me also become stronger and to keep focused. He will always be missed in my life!
In my life I want to help find a cure and help support those out there that have a battle. To help them never give up stay strong. No battle is the same, but all battles are worth the fight!!!!

Congratulations on a fight well fought. We all know that the big fight is against Cancer .. cancer robs all of us of our loved ones, our peace of mind, our future & what "could have been." So so proud that you slugged it out to a victory, tho' I would have been equally proud if your opponent's hand was the one raised at fight's end. The Pierce boys and I thank you for keeping Ali's memory alive in your heart. I am sure that the proudest of all is your dear Dad!
