Haymakers for Hope’s mission is to knockout cancer the only way we know how, by literally fighting for a cure.
Why I fight: that’s an easy answer for me. Three years ago my father was diagnosed with stage four colon cancer. My father didn’t let that stop him at all, he still got up every morning and put his boots on and went to work full time and never complained. He showed me the real meaning of being tough. My father has always been my role model because no matter how hard the situation he would always get through it. I thought if he can go through all this pain there’s nothing that I can’t handle. Unfortunately, I lost my father not even a year ago and even though he’s not with us today I know he will still be in my corner with me cheering me on. I dedicate this fight to my father to show him no matter what and if you keep going that hard work pays off. I also want to dedicate this fight to my mother in law that also passed away this past year. She was also one of the strongest people I know and she fought like hell to the end but unfortunately kidney disease took her from us.
I am honored to be fighting in haymakers this year for an awesome cause: cancer.
