Goal
Cancer is something that has touched all of us in some way—for some more profoundly than others. I’ve been fortunate to have more survivors in my circle than those who were taken from me. That ratio doesn’t look the same, however, for the many people without access to the cutting edge of medicine, or those who cannot afford or otherwise obtain access to regular preventative care & screening, or those who are forced to work in toxic conditions.
Annually in the U.S., there are ~1.7M new cancer diagnoses and ~600K people that pass away from the disease. Internationally, those numbers move to 14M+ and 8.2M+, respectively. Excluding heart disease, cancer is the leading cause of death in the U.S. and nearly 40% of individuals will be diagnosed with some form of cancer in their lifetime. The tragic component is that many of those deaths could have been prevented or delayed significantly with better access to care.
The least I can do to support those currently fighting, those who fought until the end, those fighting to stay in remission, and those researching diligently for a cure, is to contribute a significant amount of my time, energy, money, and body to raise awareness and support. I ask you to join me in supporting greater awareness, access, and care through a donation on this page and eventually ticket to the event on May 17th at the House of Blues.
Only together can we #KOCancer!
