We knew the organs were beginning to fail. Single file, one by one, young and old, we approached Andrew's hospital bed to say good bye. He was in pain and could not breath well. Some of us cried, some looked away, and others hugged. We knew this day was coming. Not too long after he was dead from cancer.
So, I fight. I fight for his legacy. I fight for his 4 grandchildren who watched him die a painful death. I fight for those that decide to go through cancer and not around it. I fight for those that refuse to let cancer define them. I fight for those that don't let this disease dictate the way they live. I fight for my great trainer, Brandon Brunell and my great gym, Everybody Fights. I fight not to knock it out, but to kill it.
I know you all have been hurt by this disease in some way. Cancer patients, families, survivors, doctors, and hospitals need your help. Donate for their cause. Every amount helps. I want to step in that ring knowing you have done your part.
On behalf of Haymakers for Hope I am fighting May 17th at the House of Blues in Boston. I look forward to updating you on my training progress and fundraising efforts as I prepare to fight. Please see the link in my bio that will allow you to donate and do your part to kill cancer.
