Cancer is a non-discriminating global killer that affects everyone - either directly as someone with cancer or indirectly as the friend, family, or colleague of someone with cancer. I am no exception. I watched my grandmother suffer with painful deterioration of her body for over 5 years caused by osteosarcoma and the treatments that were trying to help her get better. I also watched many friends and loved ones pass on so quickly from an undetected cancer that they never even had their first treatment. Most important to me, I watched some receive successful treatments that extended their lives beyond all expectations.

For all of these reasons, I am motivated to help fund research to find better treatments that save lives and improve the quality of life of patients with cancer. I will fight for Gloria, Andrea, Mary, Alice, John, Kathy, Cheryl, Andy, Gil, Francis, mom, dad, grandpa, grandma, uncle, auntie, cousin, son, daughter, husband, wife, friend, for you and for myself.
