As an employee at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, I have seen what the power of fundraising can do for cancer care and research. Through the last five years, I have witnessed how a small gift can advance cancer care and research for patients not just at Dana-Farber but all over the world.

What started as a career out of college, became a passion for me as well. I found that cancer affects so many more people than I ever imagined, the disease did not discriminate based on your age, race, gender, it did not matter. I saw families and friends grieve through this terrible disease, but I also saw people build a community around the battle that someone they knew went through. By seeing people take their grief and turn it into fight, it inspired me to not only continue to fundraise for cancer research, but to also join in this fight. I will train to fight for these next four months in hope that the money raised supports so many others on a much harder journey. My hope is that one day, the fight will end and there will be no cancer to battle!
