There are many reasons I decided to fight…

#1 - My Mom… My Mom, Barbara Khachadoorian, is the ultimate definition of strength! When my Dad passed away when I was three she devoted everything to me. When she was diagnosed with Colon Cancer the year I started medical school our world was turned upside down. The thought of potentially being parentless at 23 y/o was just unbelievable. Thanks to her amazing surgeon, oncologist, nurses and staff she not only survived her cancer but has continued to thrive ever since! She continues to work full time at 83 y/o! Just before COVID, she was subsequently diagnosed with Lung Cancer which gratefully was able to be treated with radiation. I feel extraordinarily fortunate to have had the opportunity to share so many important life moments with my Mom which would not have been possible without the superb cancer care she has received. I am fighting for her…

#2 - My Family… I lost both of my Godparents to cancer too soon. Numerous family members near and dear to my heart have fought and continue to fight their cancer battles. I am fighting for them…

#3 - My Friends… Too many of my friends have been diagnosed with cancer at such young ages. Watching the impact of cancer on their lives and the lives of their partners and children has been overwhelming at times. Too many of my friends have lost parents too soon or are actively coping with cancer struggles with their parents as we speak. I am fighting for them…

#4 - My Patients… As an Ob/Gyn Physician I have cared for so many patients with personal cancer diagnoses and cancer diagnoses in their partners. During these challenging and unpredictable times I have strived to provide a sense of stability, comfort and support. I am fighting for them…
