Goal
My dad.
I loved spending as much time as possible with my dad. He taught me so much. Through him I learned sports, cooking, music and a rich vocabulary. Sundays in our house were filled with jazz music in the mornings followed by prepping the Sunday meal and football and The Sopranos. In high school, there were many weekends I didn’t care about a curfew because I knew my dad would be holding a sport on the couch for me to watch a fight. Unfortunately, the fights became real when he was diagnosed with liver cancer. He fought with courage and humor surrounded by a large community until the very end. On days I miss him, I cook and listen to music. On this 20th anniversary, I’m going to do something bigger to honor him. I am fighting! What better way to honor him than ducking punches and raising money. Over the next few months, I will be put to the test mentally and physically. I am not on the journey alone, I have an amazing team behind me from Haymakers who all share the same goal, to knock out cancer. We are fighting for those who can’t, those who are still fighting and for those we lost.
I am so grateful for your support and encouragement as I train for this challenge. Every donation, no matter how big or small, makes a difference in the fight against cancer. Together, we can honor the memory of our loved ones and help fund research, prevention, and treatment for this devastating disease. Thank you for being part of my team. #kocancer
