WHY I FIGHT: I’m fighting for Mary Harley and all of those out there that have been affected by breast cancer. Getting hit in the face is no joke, training for a fight like this is no joke, and it’s hard, really really hard. But if someone can get diagnosed with breast cancer – a life altering diagnosis – and take the challenge head on, then I can certainly be accepted into a boxing match – and know that I have the ability to kick some serious ass. If someone can go through rounds of chemo, and still fight their battle with courage and optimism, then I can surely train my ass off and take some punches to the face. Whatever pain I experience over the next few months and whenever I think I can no longer go on, I can no longer get hit, I can no longer keep running – all I have to do is pause. Pause, and know that people out there are literally fighting for their life. They are sitting through painful rounds of chemo, recovering from surgery, and literally staring death in the face and telling it to fuck off. If they can do that, I can most certainly fight. I can fight and hope to make a difference in just one of their lives, to be an inspiration to someone who wants to give up. I can help to KO cancer – one punch at a time.
