People keep asking me why I'm stepping into the ring in October, if I'm scared to take a few punches... We all have reasons we fight - things we fight for. For some, there's just one. For me, there's many. We have all been touched by cancer in some way - people we know, have known. Family members who left too soon, friends who had to learn the hard way just how brave they really are - no matter how it has touched our lives, we are forever changed. Cancer is one of those things that you can't see coming - a disease without discrimination that affects people of all ages, genders, races, and walks of life - with no known cure. We rely on a combination of modern medicine and the will of the fighter to try and knock it out. Sometimes the fight is enough, sometimes it isn't. It is horrible and it is real - this event is my chance to fight back - to show those that have lost others or are battling their own illness behind closed doors that I will fight for them and everyone else along the way to raise awareness and money for this cause. Stepping into the boxing ring in front of family and friends is scary - but cancer and what it can leave in its wake is far scarier. For all of those who have fought a much bigger fight, for those still fighting, win or lose - for a world where cancer may someday have a cure. For everyone that can't, because I can. That is why I fight. Together we are strong, and together we can help - let's do this!! Please support my efforts to raise money and my months of hard work and dedication in the gym by joining me on this journey and giving to this wonderful cause.
