I never thought Mike Tyson would be someone I'd quote, but I'm sure any cancer survivor or a loved one of someone who's passed could agree, cancer is the punch that upends the plan. It doesn't care that you have one, or what it is. It doesn't discriminate. It doesn't matter who you are, where you come from, your age, or your financial status, or where you plan on going.

Nearly all of us can name at least one person who has fought cancer, or lost some one to it, and that is one person too many. I've been one of the fortunate. I have never been diagnosed with cancer, nor have I lost anyone close to me due to it. I have, though, witnessed friends lose their loved ones. I've watched friends, colleagues, and acquaintances go through treatment and see the life changing impact it has on not only them, but their loved ones, as well. 

I fight for those who have passed, those who have beat it, and the loved ones left behind. I fight for hope and a cure. 

Haymakers gives everyday men and women the opportunity to fight back against this terrible disease by training for, and competing in charity boxing events to raise money and awareness. To prepare for each event, we combine the efforts of the first time amateur boxing participants, local boxing gyms and volunteers. We hope to help give life saving researchers the resources needed to fully focus their efforts on finding a cure.
